The answer . . .

Summary:
Thanks to all those that took time out from lifting, mountain-biking, hiking, ... and having sex to respond to this week's question.

Lifting/Weight training is the most common off-season activity. (Note: Extra weight gained in the off-season can be attributed to increased muscle mass -- especially during the holidays :-)). Mountain-biking and Hiking each garnered several tallies. It's fun to still be able to get outdoors during these off-seasonmonths. Skiing, Basketball, and Yoga received single tallies.

Except for injuries from playing basketball, these off-season activities were viewed as being helpful for triathlons. They're also carried out during the season -- albeit lessfrequently, and with in-season modifications.

A notable alternative activity that was written-in was, "Sexual activity -- Doesn't help at all, but sure feels good!" (although we may think this must be a response from Bob, he denies it. But he does admit to having sex, and to playingbasketball). A notable write-in, from James, was his famous "4 minute cardio/2 minute strength train workout, 45min. to an hour and a half." Others have done this workout with James, and can attest to it's benefits. Contact James for details. Maybe that's what propels him to the top of the race results?
