Chuck's Long-Runs & Bricks Schedule for IM USA 2002
The following is Dr. Charles Totero's ("Chuckie-T") long-runs and Saturday bricks training schedule for his build-up to IM USA this year, as of the week of May 6, 2002.
Obligatory disclaimer: The information posted here is for your information, and not necessarily an endorsement of the only way to build up to an Ironman. What works for Chuck may or may not be best for you. Keep in mind that your mileage may vary (figuratively and literally).

I have been asked to post my training schedule for Lake Placid
-Below is a calendar of my long runs (Wed. 6am SUNY) and Saturday Bricks (Bike/Run)
-I do two 90min Computrainer w/o’s per week - fairly high intensity (I’m happy to give specifics if anyone is interested. It is essentially motor-pacing and hills) and the Thursday night ride in addition to the Saturday ride.
-Rest weeks - decrease all workouts by approx 50% and nice and easy (6-8hrs for the week). Sundays off every week.
-I don’t think anyone is interested in my swimming routine so I will leave that out – anyone interested in deep sea diving might speak to me regarding private lessons.
-I have also decided to race more this year prior to Lake Placid and will try to incorporate that into the rest week weekends. These will be tune-ups, not all out. (C races per Joe Friel)
